Keynote Speaker

John Magee
President, Crane Worldwide Logistics

Presentation Topic: Global Supply Chain - How is Your Future and What is Your Focus?

John Magee is the President and CEO of Crane Worldwide Logistics, a global freight forwarding business headquartered in Houston, Texas.  Mr. Magee has 20 years of transportation industry experience.  He began his business career in 1994 with Eagle Global Logistics (EGL) and was part of their growth into one of the largest global freight forwarding companies in the United States. After learning the business, John served in roles such as National Account Manager, Managing Director, Vice President of the South Pacific, Vice President of the UK, Ireland and Benelux, and  Senior Vice President of the South-Central U.S./Latin America region.  He retired from the company upon its 2007 acquisition by CEVA Logistics and later took on the position of President of Crane Worldwide Logistics.

With his substantial international experience, Mr. Magee has been well positioned to guide Crane Worldwide Logistics in its planned global expansion.  His hands-on experience with supply chain operations in the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas combined with in-depth knowledge of the logistics industry best practices give him exceptional insight into strategies for competitive success in worldwide freight forwarding operations. Crane Worldwide has grown from 12 offices and $40M in business in 2008, to 103 offices in 25 countries and will exceed $670M in 2014.

Mr. Magee is a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) as well as several logistics industry professional associations, including The Global Sourcing Council and Supply Chain ASIA. His Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration was conferred by the University of North Texas in 1994, where John sits on the Board of their Center of Logistics within their Business School. John has been married to his wife, Sally, for 17 years and has 3 children, Adelaide, Camille, and Declan.
