  • New Orleans, LA

The Transportation Club of Houston Is a Supporting Agency of The 4th Annual Critical Commodities Conference in New Orleans, LA.  Please register directly with the CCC at www.criticalcommoditiesconference.com

Why Should I Attend?

Come learn about the buying, selling, handling, and shipping of the commodities critical to our lives and our businesses in the Port of New Orleans, and all of the ports along the Lower Mississippi River, and the U.S. Gulf, and the river tributary network.  Given the volatility in the global economy, if you are involved in the trading, movement, handling, and storage of commodities, then this is the conference for you. The C.C.C. offers a program that is packed with educational sessions and networking opportunities, and you will learn how these commodity markets are changing, how they are being affected, and where they will be in the next year.  Will C.I.F. commodity prices be higher in 2012? Or will they be lower than they were in 2011?

This Conference gives a fresh perspective on the critical tie between the movement of commodities and the state of the World Economy.  Industry experts will predict the next 12 months of commodity flow and how it relates to the World Economy.

  • C.C.C. is the only conference of its kind that is tackling markets and transportation from a pure commodity standpoint; highlighting the major, highly sought-after commodities, and tying them together.
  • The economy's current financial crisis has shown how utterly volatile these markets are and how important it is to have access to good, up-close information. The C.C.C. will provide you this information.
  • Stay on the cutting edge of the current trends and learn new ways to deal with the effects the global economy has on critical commodities.
  • The Critical Commodities Conference will be held near one of the busiest international ports in the world, The Port of New Orleans.
  • The C.C.C. will be held during a very popular time in New Orleans as the French Quarter Fest begins that same week.
  • The C.C.C. is affordable, whether you are a Sponsor, an Exhibitor or an Attendee.

Topics of Discussion

What's new with Iron & Steel, Agribusiness, Chemicals, Energy, and non-ferrous Metals?  In the wake of the tsunami, will countries migrate from nuclear power to Coal-fired utility plants?  Will that maintain the surge in U.S. Export Coal?  Will the mammoth presence of coal, disrupt the dry-cargo barge industry?  Is the U.S.A. building enough barges to increase capacity commensurate with surging exports?  Are any commodities ailing? Are other world suppliers of commodities winning the price battle versus U.S. produced goods?   This is the reality of the present capital-crunch Market.  We will take a look at the Geographical reality of hemispheric sourcing, which is changing how people ship, and their ports of choice.   We'll also have excellent panel discussions on Piracy at Sea, Dredging and other hot-button topics.
