Michael J. Lamm

Assistant Division Administrator

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

Austin, Texas

 

Mike started his carrier with the FMCSA in Washington, DC in 1992.  In 1993, he transferred to Atlanta, GA, working for 7 years as an Investigator, Hazardous Materials Specialist, and Federal Programs Specialist.  In 2001, he returned to FMCSA headquarters to work in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance and spent 18 months working in the House of Representatives during the drafting of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, and Efficient Transportation Equity Act – A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).  While in headquarters, Mike also worked as the Chief of the Passenger Carrier Safety Division, and the State Programs Division, with oversight of the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP).  In 2008, Mike transferred to Austin in his current position as the Assistant Division Administrator for Texas.

Mike is a graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, VT, and is originally from the Washington, DC area.
